Martin moved to Brighton in 2015, returning to his home county Sussex after several years in Cornwall and has created his latest collection by drawing inspiration from the vibrancy and inevitable decay of this busy seaside town.

Martin moved to Cornwall in 2002 to study BA Spatial Design at Falmouth College of arts and after instantly falling in love with the Cornish landscape and particular lifestyle, ended up staying there for 12 years.

After his degree Martin took a studio space at Krowji in Redruth and over the next few years produced a number of paintings featuring the land, sea and skyscapes of Cornwall and in particular Falmouth where Martin exhibited regularly at art markets and also a number of successful solo exhibitions in The Poly.

A keen traveller, Martin finds inspiration
wherever he goes. Always collecting photos and sketches, Martin sorts through these once be has returned to his studio in Brighton and uses them as reference pictures to create the following paintings. There will be scenes from India, Tanzania, China and Morocco with hopefully plenty more to be added.
